The “New” Snowball

Q&A with school counselor Bob Covek

What is the purpose of Leaders Exhibiting Growth in Training (LEGIT)?

The goal of the program is to guide students to discover their individual strengths and then to combine those strengths with new leadership skills to positively impact the Carmel Catholic High School Community. The program is held on a Saturday in the spring, where members will bond, participate in team-building activities, build self-esteem and learn a few basic leadership models and theories.

Small group sessions will help students explore topics such as time management, goal setting, self-reflection, and personal leadership styles. At the end of the program, students will be recognized as a LEGIT Carmel Leader.

How did LEGIT come to be?

LEGIT is a transformation of Snowball based on the feedback and suggestions of former Snowball participants and this year’s Director Team. I have worked with three amazing seniors: Victoria Chan, Raquel Young and Christine McGowen. Their enthusiasm and passion for inclusivity and growth is the true inspiration for this group transformation.

How can students interact with LEGIT?

We will be advertising for the group starting second semester. Anyone who would like to participate in the LEGIT conference will have an opportunity to sign up. The exact details will be presented to students second semester.
