Carmel’s boys varsity basketball team got a much needed win last Thursday night after a shaky road trip.

The team got off to an early lead, but a late run by Cary Grove had the score tied near the end of the game. Carmel ultimately closed the game strong, with a steal and score from junior guard Zion Kilpatrick to seal the deal.

“Cary Grove is a great shooting team, but our defense played better tonight,” assistant coach Dan Curley said.

The Corsairs record stands at 2-4, and the young core is starting to make an impact.

Sophomore Evan Myers, a transfer student, scored a team high 25 points, including 5 three point shots.

“I just had confidence,” Myers said. “I practice my shooting every day.”

Carmel has another home game this Saturday against Marist.
