Students get creative on YouTube

For most Carmel students, January means staying inside and drowning out the dreary weather with mindless computer absorption. Some Carmel students, though, are busy creating some of that online content.
From makeup tutorials to GoPro adventures, Carmel has some talents that many of their classmates don’t know about. Here is a hub for all of Carmel’s YouTubers and their channels for you to explore.

Emily Edicola

You may know junior Emily Edicola for her hilarious twitter or sunset-picture-filled instagram. If you envy her killer contouring, bold eyeshadow, or perfect eyeliner, Emily’s channel, foreveryoung3671, is the place to learn all of her tips and tricks.

It’s not just a passion project, though, Emily makes money from producing videos for her thousands of subscribers. But she says it is not about the cash.

I do it because I love makeup and creating new looks and trying out different products,” Edicola said.

Emily has been making videos since eighth grade and believes that starting young actually brings something new to the table.
“It’s fun to look back on different moments of my life,” Edicola said, “And see how much I have improved and changed over the years.”

Hannah Capparelli

If you are all about the Voice or Idol, head over to junior Hannah Capparelli’s channel. Hannah said she started out singing for her mom, but one day she “just decided to make a video.”

She likes singing slower ballads, but her videos will not put you to sleep. Hannah covers songs from artists like Birdy, Sia, and Ella Henderson. Capparelli’s tunes might just get get stuck in your head all day.

Justin Eberhardt

The rapper who tore up the pep rally has a YouTube channel! Many students were surprised when junior, Justin Eberhardt, performed a rap song as part of a Cadence performance, but you can also catch him online. Justin not only sings other people’s work, but he also creates his own songs!

Justin turned his basement into a recording studio, even turning a humidifier into a smoke machine. He enjoys turning any situation into a performance.

He also uses his channel to promote his upcoming album, “The Fall.” Justin posted the single “Red Light” up and is uploading the songs as they come along.

I have a lot of song ideas in my brain and it kinda hurts if I don’t put it out where people could listen to it,” Eberhardt said.

He hopes that his music might catch some colleges or producers eyes at some point, but for now, he is just hoping that “people will connect with [his] songs.”
