Staying motivated when it seems impossible

We’re halfway there

The first semester is halfway over. The paper stacks are getting higher and the tests  are getting harder. It can feel as though you’re swimming in stress. Here are five easy ways to keep going to finish the semester off strong

  1. Christmas is Coming

Pull out your ugly sweaters and haul up the holly! Santa will be here in in less than ten week, and you and your family will be sitting right by the open fire under the lights of the Christmas tree.

2. Do it for the Animals

No matter how bad you think you are doing in your classes, your pets will still love you. If you don’t have a pet, grab a  friend’s pet to love. Even better, head to your local shelter to love up the ones waiting for a home. Even the random dogs on the street will cheer you on. They’re your biggest fans.

3. For one “bad”, there are many “goods”

It’s only one hour in a day. It’s only one day in a week. It’s only one week in a month. If you break one bad day down into it only being a small sliver in your life, it will make the bad day not be as terrible. Whenever you feel down, just remember that everything will be alright and this is only a small part in your wonderful life ahead.

4. You’re not alone

Although it might seem as though you are the only one with studying and homework up to your eyeballs, you are, in fact, not alone. As the school year drags on, it’s supposed to be more challenging for everyone. Even if you listen in the hallways, you’ll hear just about every student stressing out over the same things you are. It’s not easy, but you’re gonna be so much smarter later.

5. Talk about what’s going on

One way to relieve stress is to share how you are feeling. Maybe you don’t feel comfortable chatting with someone, but even if you just talk to the wall, you might be able to sort things out. Or at least it could help make you feel more organized and motivated to kill it.
