Shannon Morozin and Natalie Schlueter practice their monologues

In homerooms, the lunchroom, and, of course, the auditorium, monologues have nervously been recited over and over again. This year’s fall play, Murder at Coppersmith Inn, is in high gear as parts get cast and Denise Sebastiano, director, prepares for her first farce in five years.

“I’m really excited! It’s going to be a super small cast with only 15 main characters” Sebastiano said. “It’s always hard to cut people, but I’m trying to keep background characters, they really make it sometimes.”

The 55 freshman, sophomores, juniors, and seniors trying out are excited to participate in something they’ve never done before: “audience interaction.” That’s right, the cast will actually be coming into the crowd, making them part of the show.

The seniors, though, are most excited to have this one as their last play.

“Three 16 year old girls want to become actresses, they find an ad for a murder mystery where they have to play 18 years olds, and then a murder happens,” said senior, Natalie Schluter about the play.

The play in itself is a mystery not only for the audience, but also for the cast.

“I don’t really know what it’s about,” said senior Daniel DeWald,“It’s like clue! I think..”

The drama department is on their way to solving the first mystery of the cast today with callbacks at 3:30 in the auditorium.
